Deep South Outfitters sits at the intersection of Cahaba River Road and Colonnade Parkway south of the city of Birmingham. This is a real fly shop. Rob Rogers has owned the place for well over a decade and David Diaz works behind the counter. David is one of 20 members of the Board of Governors of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) and heads up continuing education for FFF Certified Casting Instructors. The shop is classic. Clothing and footwear are on the left and fly fishing stuff on the right as you enter the store. There is a good selection of literature, from works of fiction to the "how to" stuff, on the shelves. Selections of high end rods, reels, lines, flies, and all the fly tying material and tools you could every think of. A fly tying table sits in the back.
