Welcome to The West Yellowstone Fly Shop and Saving The World Fly Fishing Co. Based out of West Yellowstone, MT, we are an outfitting business specializing in guiding and teaching anglers of all ages and skill levels as well as traveling to exotic and fabled angling destinations. We spend summers fishing and guiding the waters of southwest Montana and the winter months pursuing trout in Patagonia, Argentina. Our goal is to teach and promote fly fishing as a fun and exciting way to enjoy life and experience nature while stressing the importance of conservation and giving back more than you take from any situation. In other words, saving the world through fly fishing. In 2005 we started Saving the World Fly Fishing Company and a year later opened the West Yellowstone Fly Shop. We have access to a variety of blue ribbon trout streams within an hour drive of West Yellowstone. Our guiding season typically runs from early June through mid October. We are very comfortable guiding complete beginners, and kids, as well as advanced anglers. We always take an instructional approach to our guiding. On our trips, catching fish and learning how to be a better angler go hand in hand. West Yellowstone is located in Southwest Montana on the border of Yellowstone National Park, 90 miles south of Bozeman. Nestled in the center of fly fishing's "golden triangle", West Yellowstone is literally surrounded by Blue Ribbon trout water. The Madison, Firehole, Gallatin, Yellowstone, and Lamar rivers are just a few that we are fortunate to call our home waters. Come and discover for yourself what makes this area is so special. Don't be surprised if you find yourself coming back year after year! We have been exploring Northern Patagonia on for nearly a decade. We are pleased to say we work with some of the finest Argentine Outfitters in Patagonia. They have given us the opportunity to offer our clients a very special trip to this amazing part of the world. We were drawn to this area of Argentina because of the incredible variety of water located within a 100 mile radius of the town of San Martin De Los Andes. The area reminded us of West Yellowstone in the sense that there was always somewhere nearby that was fishing well.
